RPC Tedeco raises c£4000 for Macmillan Cancer Support

Early last year, the Kenfig arm of RPC Tedeco-Gizeh announced through the trade that its charity partner for 2011 would be Macmillan Cancer Support.

The charity was nominated by the site’s Employee Forum group, which General Manager David Lowe established when he joined the site in 2010.

David explains, “Each year we close the charity activities at Christmas (on the very last day before the Christmas break) with the tradition that the senior management team ‘dress up’ and meet with every employee to exchange Christmas gifts. At the same time the charity donation buckets are circulated and again all money raised goes to the charity. Through all our activities last year, we raised c£4000 for Macmillan.”

Activities included: Bob Oldcorne shaving off his beard; Adrian Pratt and other team members getting their legs waxed;  Steve White going on a 100km bike ride; David Lowe running the Bristol Half Marathon and the Great North Run; a sponsorship bike to work week; a coffee morning; several employees jumping out of planes (with parachutes!); a car boot sale selling goods donated from staff and more!

David continues, “Our thanks and appreciation to all friends, colleagues and customers who donated to our campaign last year.”

Further details of the site’s activities can be seen by visiting its justgiving web site at www.justgiving.com/RPC-Tedeco-Gizeh.
