BWCA and EDWCA members to vote on a single Association

On October 10, members of both the British Water Cooler Association (BWCA) and the European Drinking Water Cooler Association (EDWCA) will be invited to vote for their respective Associations to be amalgamated to create a new, combined Association to replace the two separate existing trade bodies.

Talks began between members of the two executive councils in 2018. As a result of successful discussions, an outline proposal was put to the combined membership. This proposal was successfully mandated by both Associations in the Autumn of 2018.

Since this date a considerable amount of work has been undertaken with representatives from both Association executive councils collaborating closely together.

Both existing Associations will be holding their respective AGMs on Thursday, October 10, at the same venue, where a final decision to proceed will be voted on. If the majority of members in each organisation vote in favour of an amalgamation, then the first meeting will be held on the same day and a new Association will be formed, with an anticipated launch date of January 2020.
