Wafflemeister has announced the first-ever launch of its waffles into the vending sector through a partnership with Templeman Retailing & Vending.
Effective immediately, Wafflemeister’s 50g and 90g waffles, will be available to buy from the 3,500 vending machines across the country serviced by Templeman. In addition to the listing across the vending estate Templeman Retailing will also make Wafflemeister 50g & 90g waffles available within their wholesale division that is a direct route to market for vending. As a national, specialist wholesaler Wafflemeiester waffles will become available for every vending operation across the UK allowing the industry to take advantage of the demand that has already been seen.
With the increasing consumer demand for variety and choice, the waffles will be expected to be rolled out further in 2024.
The move follows Wafflemeister’s first UK retail listing earlier this year, with its Belgian Classic Waffles, Chocolate Coated Belgian Waffles and Toasting waffles now available in Waitrose stores nationwide, as well as a listing with Costco, the third largest retailer in the world.
The brand has also seen great success in retail having established itself in the wholesale and foodservice markets, and is growing its presence across the education, and healthcare sectors.
Jon White, commercial director, Wafflemeister, said: “We’re delighted to take our first steps into the vending market. Customers want vending options for every part of the day rather than just an afternoon snack or chocolates and crisps.
“This is where our delicious waffles can really add value. They’re versatile, convenient and affordable.
“In continental Europe waffles are one of the highest selling items in Vending machines, whereas you would be hard pushed to find any machines in the UK selling them. So we are really pleased to be giving something new to consumers, and introducing more places our customers can buy their favourite Wafflemeister waffles!”
Paul Emery, general manager at Templeman Retailing & Vending said: “We’re delighted to be working with Wafflemeister and to be the first vending company to launch their products in the vending sector.
“We’re aware of the growing popularity of waffles in the UK and we have been looking for the right product for a while now; Wafflemeister is such a strong and well-known brand which has proven extremely popular during initial trials – we are confident that as more of our customers see these products across our estate, rate of sale will continue to soar.
Wafflemeister sells more than one waffle a second from over 10,000 locations through its partnerships with major national wholesalers. The company also has more than 25 branded outlets across the UK in high-profile locations such as Alton Towers, Legoland, Oxford Street and Butlins.
