Get your entries in for The Vendies 2022

Following the success of the first Vendies virtual awards ceremony – organised by the publishers of Vending International, Datateam Business Media – we are excited to announce that the Vendies will be returning to a live awards format on the 9 of June 2022.

These awards will continue a longstanding tradition of recognising and rewarding companies and individuals that have made exceptional contributions to the trade – and entries are now open!

But don’t delay in getting your submissions in because entries close on 28 February, 2022.

This year The Vendies are pleased to announce two brand new categories: The Covid Initiative Award and the Best Vending Project.

The Covid Initiative Award seeks entries from vending businesses that have taken the fight against COVID-19 to new heights. Entries will be considered on behalf of any initiative which contributed to the national effort to resist the virus, OR the introduction of any product or service which delivered convenient, contact-free, virus beating systems for consumers. This award is open to both vending operators and suppliers.

Meanwhile, the Best Vending Project is open to any vending business or partnership that has delivered an innovative project, development or service that is not eligible for any other category. Businesses can enter either individually or collaboratively where more than one company has joined forces on an important vending project. This award is open to both operators and suppliers.

You also still have the opportunity to enter all the old favourites. These include:

Supplier categories:
Best machine innovation
Best payment system
Best beverage brand
Best snack/confectionery product
Best new product
Best ancillary product or service
Best supplier website
Customer service award
Best healthy product
Best sustainable product

Operator categories:
Best regional operator
Best overall operator
Best route operator
Best service engineer
Best area manager
Best customer service
The Corporate Social Responsibility award is open to both suppliers and operators.
So far, this year’s sponsors include SB Software and Search Engineering & Manufacturing.

Matt Covell, senior divisional manager at Search said: “We are delighted to partner with The Vendies in 2022 and to be sponsoring the Service Engineer of the Year award. Having worked with the finest engineers on the job market, it’s extremely apparent how important it is for the people who undertake these roles to get the recognition they deserve.

“Given how candidate-driven the current market is, we speak with field service professionals day in day out and fully appreciate the lengths they go to provide a quality service, alongside showcasing their expertise from a technical perspective. Celebrating their achievements on the night will highlight our thanks to all entrants for their hard work in what has been an extremely challenging year for the industry.”

Simon Black, managing director of SB Software said: “Here at SB Software, we are delighted to be partnering with the Vendies again this year sponsoring the Best Overall Operator.
We have been a category sponsor for a few years running now. For a variety of reasons:
• The Vendies are a “good idea”: not just recognising and celebrating successes already achieved, but also encouraging us all to do ever better still going forward.
• Winning an award is understandably a positive experience, but in many ways, the process of entering beforehand is even more useful – assessing what is going well, and where there are opportunities to do better still.
• The event has long been successful as a forum for bringing key players together. Last year of necessity we were all online. Whatever the context, the more chances we have to share ideas, opportunities and best practice, the better for all. Good luck to everyone entering.”
