The Water Dispenser & Hydration Association (WHA), the UK’s trade body for the water dispenser sector, has announced key leadership changes following its Annual General Meeting, held near Solihull on 25 September 2025.

Matt Stimpson, who has served on the WHA Executive Council for five years, has been elected as the new Chair of the Association. He succeeds Jon Wicks, who has completed an eight-year tenure as non-executive Chair. Stimpson, Sales Director at Thirsty Work, brings extensive sector experience and will take up his role with immediate effect.

Vision for the WHA

Commenting on his appointment, Stimpson said: “I am honoured to be elected as Chair and grateful for the trust placed in me. I aim to build on the excellent work undertaken by Jon Wicks and continue strengthening the WHA’s position as the leading industry body. My focus will be on finding ways to help Members make and save money through AI, automation, people development, and enhanced technical capability, while also supporting the industry as UK and European legislation continues to evolve.”

WHA General Manager Phillipa Clow paid tribute to the outgoing Chair, saying:

“I would like to acknowledge the significant contribution Jon has made during his eight years as Chair. Under his leadership the Association has gone from strength to strength. I am delighted that Members have chosen Matt Stimpson to guide the WHA through its next phase of development.”

Cath James for 2025 AGM WHA appoints Chair and Deputy Chair

Members also elected Cath James as Deputy Chair. James, Production, Quality & Technical Director at Eden Springs, has served on the WHA Executive Council for three years. She brings substantial expertise in technical compliance, quality systems, regulatory affairs, and supplier assurance. She will support Stimpson in driving forward the Association’s priorities.
