UK Soft Drinks Industry Conference focuses on opportunities for healthy innovation

This year’s UK Soft Drinks Industry Conference took place on May 11 and had a strong focus on the opportunities for healthy innovation.

Attendees received a full update on market and consumer trends from Kantar and Zenith. Lucozade Ribena Suntory shared insights on reformulation, while health and sustainability was debated by speakers from Bristol University, INCPEN, Coca-Cola and the British Soft Drinks Association. In addition, Britvic’s Wisehead Productions presented on the rise of adult soft drinks, with extra insights on adding value from Pret A Manger and Innocent.

Richard Hall, chairman of specialist food and drink consultancy Zenith Global, said: “The UK soft drinks industry has a range of vital issues it must address. Attention has already moved beyond next year’s soft drinks levy to the wider potential of product development that provides extra value and benefit as well as responding to advances in ingredients, technology and sustainability.”
