Scott The AVA welcomes new public affairs manager

The Vending & Automated Retail Association (AVA) has appointed Scott Sherlock as its new public affairs manager, bringing with him extensive experience from Westminster and major corporate environments.

Scott joins the AVA following a time with Japan Tobacco International (JTI), where he played a key role in shaping the company’s public affairs strategy. Working at the heart of JTI’s Corporate Affairs Department, he led stakeholder engagement on priority issues including taxation, public health, product regulation and legislation.

Before his corporate role, Scott spent several years in the UK Parliament, serving as Chief of Staff to two Members of Parliament. His achievements include delivering campaigns, such as helping to secure funding for the regeneration of a town centre, as well as leading a broad programme of research, communications, and constituency support. Earlier in his career, Scott worked in the Conservative Party’s International Department and gained commercial experience in the IT sector.

David Llewellyn, chief executive of the AVA, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Scott to the AVA. His deep understanding of Parliament, combined with hands-on experience delivering effective public affairs strategies, will significantly strengthen our ability to represent and support our members. Scott brings real energy and insight and he will play a key role in ensuring our industry’s voice continues to be heard where it matters most.”
