The company has set target to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2030 across scopes 1 and 2 and all scopes by 2045. Despite continuous business growth, the company remains focused on reducing its carbon footprint while expanding operations.

It has implemented significant energy-efficient measures, such as upgrading office lighting to PIR systems and optimising HVAC systems. By 2026, Refreshment Systems aims to install solar panels across all depots and electrify its fleet as technology and infrastructure improve.

By the end of 2024, Refreshment Systems will complete a comprehensive supplier evaluation to map Scope 3 emissions, ensuring that the entire supply chain aligns with the company’s sustainability goals.

Investments in low-carbon technologies, including electric and hybrid vehicles and energy-efficient IT systems, have significantly boosted operational efficiency. Advanced telemetry systems have improved operational efficiencies by nearly 20% over the last two financial years.

Refreshment Systems has completed the NHS Evergreen Sustainable Supplier Assessment, achieving Level 2, which includes comprehensive Net Zero targets and reporting for carbon emissions. This aligns the company with the NHS’s long-term sustainability priorities.
