Tony Smith of Jacobs Douwe Egberts Professional (JDE) has been chosen to represent the Automatic Vending Association (AVA) at its European counterpart.
Currrently commodities representative at the AVA, will replace Gillian White at the European Vending Association. The role will entail attending quarterly meetings with the EVA as part of the executive committee.
Tony said: “It’s a great honour to be chosen as the AVA representative of the EVA and uphold the reputation of previous AVA members who have served. It is good to have the opportunity to have a voice in Europe on behalf of the UK vending industry. I hope to play an active role on behalf of the association and to work in the best interests of UK vending operators.”
Jonathan Hart, chief executive of the AVA, commented: “Tony brings an incredible amount of experience to this role which will stand him in good stead as he deals with the wide variety of issues facing vending at a European level. His enthusiasm and expertise will be a tremendous asset to the EVA, just as it has been to the AVA over recent years.”
