Vending operators and suppliers are facing significant changes as the UK’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations come into effect. Many businesses may now be liable for fees on single-use packaging, including cups – a shift from previous legislation.
To help operators and suppliers navigate these changes, the AVA: The Vending & Automated Retail Association is hosting a FREE webinar for AVA Members on Monday 10th February at 13:00, featuring compliance experts from Valpak. The session will provide clear guidance on:
- Who is liable under the new EPR regulations
- How vending businesses must register and report packaging data
- What steps operators and suppliers need to take to remain compliant
- Expert insights from Valpak to answer key industry questions
“These new regulations mark a major shift in how packaging responsibility is assigned,” says Kennedy Warwick, AVA. “Many vending businesses that weren’t previously affected may now need to take action. This webinar will help them understand their obligations and avoid potential fines.”
Under EPR, businesses will be classified based on the volume of packaging they handle, with different levels of reporting and financial responsibility. If you fill cups as a vending operator, you may now be considered a ‘producer’ under EPR rules.
