Mr Lee’s Noodle Kiosk launches at Huddersfield University

Mr Lee’s Pure Foods Co stirred things up this month at Huddersfield University with a trial launch of the company’s award-winning, Noodle Kiosk vending machine. These digital, interactive noodle bars offer students 24/7 access to hot, healthy foods that are prepared quick for “on-the-go”, or a “sit down ready” meal.
The nationwide roll-out aims to challenge how we purchase foods on-the-go, by vending a range of six wholesome, gluten free noodle flavours, including two vegan options; one of the markets lowest in salt, sugars, fats (saturated) with no chemical additives and MSGs. The difference lies in the use of freeze-dried ingredients, locking in 98% of the ingredients’ nutritional values, and combining them with naturally gluten-free rice noodles. This results in a flavoursome vended product, which once stirred up, resembles a fresh bowl of nutritious, homemade noodles.
After being told he had a few weeks to live, two-times stage 4 cancer survivor and noodle lover – Damien Lee made it his goal to help time-poor people eat better. He wanted to create a noodle that tasted good yet be a healthy alternative to some of the ones which are currently on the market, but lacking any real ingredients and are poor in any nutritional values.
The launch of Huddersfield University’s Mr Lee’s Noodle Kiosk is a testament to his healthy food revolution that – with a cashless and mobile payment system, a powerful 42” touch-screen, and tailored, engaging video content –aims to reverse poor expectations which students and others may hold for vending foods.
You can purchase Mr Lee’s noodle at Huddersfield University until January.
