Memorial charity golf day raises £650 for British Heart Foundation

Abbeychart employees, customers and suppliers joined forces for the Anthony Bennett Memorial charity golf day which was held at the Great Lever and Farnworth Golf Club, Bolton.

Former employee Tony was a valued and popular member of the warehouse team in Bolton for 13 years, until his untimely death from a heart attack in 2017.

“We were very sad to lose such a larger-than-life character so suddenly. He would be so proud and very surprised that this special event bears his name, said Mark Taylor, managing director, Abbeychart.

“Many people who couldn’t attend on the day very kindly made donations for which we are very grateful.   A special mention is also due to Ethan Blackwood and everyone at Advanced Engineering, Basingstoke for their very generous prize donations.”

“Tony Stuart, group operations manager, Hawco and the team at Bolton did an excellent job of organising the day which ran like clockwork so all credit to them too.”

The day raised £650 for the British Heart Foundation and proved to be a very fitting tribute to a much-loved former colleague.  Such was the success of yesterday’s fund raiser there are plans to make the golf day an annual event.  Look out for further details online at www.abbeychart.co.uk in due course.
