As customer demand and awareness grows, Evoca Group is putting sustainability at the heart of operations.
The company says that for the past two years, it has focused on strengthening and extending sustainability practices. It contends that an integrated approach is becoming increasingly relevant for businesses based in Europe, where sustainability legislation for companies, on topics including reporting, supply chain management, and products and processes, is expanding.
Andrew Barrow, sales director said: “Our customers and employees are also becoming more personally aware of, and engaged in, the pursuit of sustainability.
“We embrace these trends as an opportunity for innovation to meet changing demands and develop new solutions. We also acknowledge the time, skills, and investment this involves.”
The company is implementing actions based on science-based targets. It has signed-up to the United nations Global Compact, (UNGC), a call to companies to align strategies and operations with universal principles on human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption; and take actions that advance societal goals.
“We publish highly detailed annual sustainability reports that represent the milestones we’ve passed on our journey and those we’re heading towards and will reach in the future,” Andrew said.
EVOCA’s sustainability achievements:
- Evoca’s ‘Design for Environment’ project has re-defined guidelines for responsible packaging. The goal is to create simple, functional, and sustainable.
- The company aims to use recycled and recyclable materials where possible and to minimise the use of plastics both in inbound and outbound logistics. For our SuperAutomatic machines this has reduced plastic packaging by 90%.
- All packaging is now recyclable, and reduces carbon emissions by nearly 40%, and incoming packaging by 83%
- Towards the end of 2024, Evoca released Product Carbon Footprint fact sheets for many of the machines in the range.
- In September 2024, Evoca was awarded the EcoVadis Platinum rating. This puts it in the top 1% of machinery sector companies and recognises the company’s commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices.
