The Automatic Vending Association (AVA) is delighted to announce that it will be collaborating with the European Drinking Water Cooler Association (EDWCA) to create stronger links between industries which share many attributes. The EDWCA, which is the UK’s largest water cooler trade association, will be run under the AVA roof, from its offices in High Wycombe.
The AVA and EDWCA have previously joined forces to deliver the water cooler and vending industry’s leading trade show – AVEX, which this year takes place at the NEC, Birmingham from 11-13 June, so their working relationship is already well established. This move will allow them to develop a joint trade show strategy for the future.
The AVA will have a dedicated team to provide EDWCA members with a range of beneficial services similar to those that the AVA has developed for its members over the past few years. These include regular networking events, professional public relations services, meeting room facilities and preferential supplier rates.
By combining the specific knowledge of both associations, the AVA will have a greater lobbying voice within Westminster and the EU, be able to provide greater technical training resource for AVA members and will have a greater pool of members for networking events.
Jonathan Hilder, Chief Executive Officer of the AVA, has commented on the merger:
“We are delighted to welcome the EDWCA secretariat function into the AVA and with it the opportunity to share the specialist package of benefits available to its members and support them in running their businesses. Our members will benefit from this move by the shared expertise, resources and networking it offers, as well as increasing our political might. Both the AVA and the EDWCA have audited quality schemes so there will be joint learning and developments to share and it will complement the water issues expertise that the AVA currently has with Mike Saltmarsh, our Technical Consultant.”
