Environment Agency award Coffee Point vending contract

The Environment Agency has awarded national vending operator, the Coffee Point Group a three-year contract to supply and operate high quality vending services across the North East and Yorkshire.
Carrying out Government policy, inspecting and regulating businesses and reacting when there is an emergency such as flood or pollution incident, the Environment Agency is the leading public organisation for protecting and improving the environment in England and Wales and currently employs over 10,000 people.
The Agency put out their vending services to tender, and after a competitive process, involving eight other vending operators, the Coffee Point Group were awarded the contract, with an additional two-year contract extension proviso.
Peter Gardy, procurement manager for the Environment Agency comments: “Coffee Point came highly recommended from other regions within the Environment Agency. Our regional facilities manager spoke to all the regions about vending and Coffee Point came out very strongly.”
Coffee Point’s business development manager for the North East region, Colin Smith, comments: “As you would expect of the Environment Agency, they were keen to have energy saving mechanisms on all vending and cooler machines. We have installed a mechanism that will completely power down the machine when the area around it is unoccupied, yet, will maintain the desired product temperature. As a business, we are eager to be involved in environmental initiatives and were pleased to be awarded this contract.”
