AVA Team Steps Up To Fundraising Challenge

IMG_7862A team from the Automatic Vending Association (AVA) ran the Eton Dorney 10k this weekend to help fund a life-changing operation for six year old Cerys Griffiths.

Rosie Mills, exhibition manager for AVEX, the AVA’s bi-annual vending conference and Tracy Corroll, membership services manager all took part in the charity run on 7th March to raise £500 for the cause.

Cerys suffers from quadriplegic  cerebral palsy and was diagnosed with the condition as a result of being born 11 weeks premature. She is now completely dependent on her wheelchair.IMG_7863

Her family have already raised £50,000 of the £60,000 needed for the vital operation in the US that will enable Cerys to sit up, crawl and play with her friends. They are now hoping to raise the remaining £10,000 in 2015.

AVEX Exhibition Manager, Rosie Mills, said: “This is our first 10k run and we’re really excited to take part in the challenge and raise funds for Cerys’ cause. We hope that everyone takes her story to heart as much as we all have and gives generously.”

The team have raised £445 so far but are hoping to reach their target of £500. You can still support the AVA team’s challenge by donating here:  https://www.justgiving.com/AVA-GIRLS/
