On 7 November Apogee celebrated its 20 year anniversary. CEO David Wood would personally like to thank all those individuals and companies who have supported Apogee over the years – many of whom have been by the company’s side since day one.

“These include all our major suppliers with special mentions to Ian Johnston and Richard Callwood of Coffetek, David Brady of N&W, Mike Kane and Vanessa Johnson of Crane MS, Dick Boba of Rhea Vendors and Kevin Reed of Siemens Financial Services. I would also like to thank all our customers from end users to distributors and contract caterers. Special mentions to Brian Savage of TVS and Chris Strong of Strong Vend for each being my ‘Jiminy Cricket’ for servicing and operating advice. And finally thank you to Peter Quinney of Quintus Systems who gave me a great lead and the subsequent nudge to turn Apogee into the Ltd Company it is today.” Due to the very early arrival of David’s newest granddaughter the family business celebrated with a belated low key family meal at a local restaurant.

‘Apogee’ means ‘the farthest or highest point’, ‘the peak’, ‘the summit’, and so the company also sent one lucky customer to celebrate at the ‘Apogee’ of London – The Shard. On Saturday 28th March, Samantha Kitchen of Velden Engineering based in Bolton, along with four of her friends met up in London. “The elevator whisked us up to the 32nd floor,” said Sam, “As we emerged out of the torch lit passageway the night time view of London impressed us all. It was a few minutes before we could tear ourselves away to even order a cocktail!”
