New on the vending scene is the Fed Well hot food system. Originally trialled earlier in the year at AVEX, it is an innovative joint venture between Pro-Pak Foods, one of the largest manufacturers of ready meals in the UK and Spanish vending machine giant, Jofemar. Together, they will be offering operators the opportunity to see for themselves the versatility of the new system and test out the quality of food on offer at Vendex [Stand F12].
The Fed Well system is a novel way to dispense nutritious hot meals automatically. The machine offers the choice of up to nine different selections using Jofemar’s tried and tested Gourmet vendor. The Gourmet is an advanced hot food vending merchandiser with a built-in microwave oven, which the Company likens to a “canteen in a vending machine”. Once a selection is made, the machine does the rest, reheating the food integrally in a high power microwave.
Fed Well is a registered brand name of Pro-Pak Foods, an innovative producer of quality ambient and chilled foods based in Malton, north Yorkshire. Its products are manufactured to the highest possible standards and the Company is proud to have earned the prestigious EFSIS quality standard accreditation at Grade A Higher level. The Fed Well brand is rapidly establishing itself as a household name and may be found in many of our major high street supermarkets. The current range of ready meals extends to 14 different dishes and visitors to the Show will be invited to sample such traditional British fare as Cottage pie or Lamb Hot Pot and international dishes like Lasagne or Red Thai Curry. The Gourmet machine has a total capacity of 88 meals
The machine is simple to use and each dish vended is heated integrally in the vending machine, taking no more than 60 seconds from payment to first delicious mouthful. Fed Well products are all ambient, with a 12-month shelf life from production date.
The Vendex stand will be manned by Mark Jenkins, Sales & Marketing Director of Pro-Pak Foods and Vassilis Gotsis, Managing Director of Jofemar UK. Speaking in advance of the Show, Mark commented: “We are delighted to have co-operated with Jofemar in this venture. As soon as we saw the Gourmet machine, we knew it could work well with our range. I am convinced that this will become an important route to market for us.”
