Vending stalwart passes away

The Automatic Vending Association (AVA) has announced that Alec Upton, of the Upton Group, has died after a short illness.

AVA chief executive David Lewellyn said: “Alec was a stalwart and characterful part of the vending industry, having built Upton Group from a small sweet shop in Selby with his wife Janet. Our thoughts are with Janet, Tracy, Ross, their families and all at Upton Group at this time.”

Alec’s funeral will take place on  Monday 7th October with a reception afterwards at The Parsonage Hotel, Escrick

All are welcome to attend. There will be a collection on the day with proceeds being split between Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Cancer Research.
