Vending industry comes together to change lives

page-10-great-vending-get-togetherAn incredible £16,000 was raised in support of children’s education charity, EdUKaid, at the ‘Great Vending Get Together Ball’ on Saturday 1 October in Sandbanks hosted by Revive Vending.  This was the sixth annual ball supported by the industry in aid of EdUKaid who provide much needed education to young children in one of the poorest regions in Tanzania, and the most successful fundraising event so far.

After a lavish dinner, a highly competitive and lively auction conducted by Keith Smith from Platino included prizes from Coffetek, Siemens, Automatic Retailing, Barry Callebaut, VH Graddons, Nivo,  JDE Coffee and Mars. Inspired by the moving presentation given by Revive Vending’s managing director and chair of EdUKaid Tim Varney, three companies and one individual committed £1,400 each to sponsor Tanzanian trained teachers providing a critical resource for these disadvantaged children.  The fun filled evening concluded with a live band and some fabulous moves on the dance floor.

In the six years since the event began the vending industry has raised nearly £100,000 radically improving the lives of the children supported by the charity.  Tickets are already in great demand for next year’s event. For more information contact Sarah Varney on svarney1@me.com
