Selecta lands Port of Dover contract

Selecta, leading European vending services company which is reported to provide food and beverage services at over 100,000 points-of-sale and over four million drinks every day, has secured a contract to provide vending services at the Port of Dover, the UK’s leading cross-channel ferry port – used by more than 14 million passengers, 2.8 million tourist cars, 105,000 coaches and 2.3 million lorries in 2006.
Under the terms of the agreement, Selecta will provide 13 machines offering vended hot and cold beverages and confectionery products at a number of locations including the port’s travel and freight centres, arrivals hall plus coach and passenger lanes.
On offer will be leading-brand hot beverages including fresh-brew tea from PG Tips, cold drinks from Coca-Cola and Britvic as well as confectionery and snacks from Cadbury and Nestlé. Selecta has also introduced Project Apple at the port, a consumer-driven vending concept featuring Selecta-branded can and bottle vending machines which gives the flexibility of offering a variety of brand-leading products across the soft drinks sectors.
As it is not tied to any single given ingredient or equipment supplier, Selecta has been able to supply the best and most reliable products for each vending site. The company’s merchandisers will pay regular visits to the site to ensure all machines are fully stocked and maintained.
“We are delighted to be working with the Port of Dover – England’s gateway to the Continent with millions of holidaymakers and businesspeople passing through it each year,” says Selecta Sales and Marketing Director, Jonathan Barr. “Selecta has considerable experience serving the transport and travel sector where we provide vending services to customers at airports, railway stations and at roadside locations throughout the UK.”
