New organic smoothies

Grove Fresh, the UK’s leading organic juice brand, is to introduce single-serving organic smoothies exclusively for the foodservice sector.
The 250ml smoothies will be available from next month in Strawberry & Banana and Mango & Passionfruit varieties, and the company aims to gain a unique advantage in the rapidly expanding smoothie market – which saw value sales growth of 42 per cent in 2007 (Nielsen Scantrack, 6/10/07) – by offering a product that is certified organic by the Soil Association, Europe’s leading organic body.
Mark Phillips, Sales and Marketing Director for Grove Fresh, said: “Although sales of smoothies have soared in recent years, the choice available to organic consumers has been somewhat limited until now. We are one of the first companies to produce smoothies that are certified organic and therefore guaranteed free from the residue of artificial fertilisers and pesticides.
“More and more consumers are choosing organic products for home consumption when they go to the supermarket, for their health benefits and their superior taste, and they increasingly expect to find the same on out-of-home eating occasions. By launching our new smoothies in convenient 250ml bottles for the foodservice sector, we aim to meet this growing demand. Retail catering businesses and operators will benefit from the willingness of consumers to pay more for organic products, which generates increased turnover and higher profit margins.”

In addition to smoothies, the Grove Fresh range includes seven juice varieties – the best-selling orange and apple varieties, grapefruit, apple & mango, apple & cranberry, ruby orange, and V Juice original tomato & vegetable.
