International Paper has appointed David Lawlor as sales and marketing director with a brief to assist the global packaging concern in the development of its on-going business strategy while also supporting and helping to drive forward the company’s long-term growth plan.
Having spent a significant proportion of his career in the foodservice industry in a variety of roles, ranging from export control and distribution management to sales and marketing and business development, David has a broad knowledge and understanding of the sector as well as a specific experience of disposable products.
Managing director for International Paper Foodservice, Mike Turner is delighted to have David on board: “We expect David to play a significant role in driving new business in the coming months as he helps us to meet our targets and expand our reach in certain areas. He has an extremely impressive CV and a full and comprehensive understanding of the foodservice and catering disposables world and he is a very welcome addition to the team.”
David is equally pleased to join the team at what he sees as a key stage in the company’s development: “International Paper has recently made a significant investment in new tooling which means that it can now produce 7oz and 12 oz paper cups to fit vending machines for the very first time from its UK base in Winsford. We have already started talking to key players in the vending industry about this development and we expect to have secured some sales ahead of manufacturing, later this summer.
