Innovations in contactless, hygienic vending

The world has changed dramatically over the past few months, with all industries learning that they must adapt in order to survive, and vending is not immune to the effects of the pandemic.

In order to meet the needs of the ‘new normal’ Brodericks has developed two new pieces of technology that enable customers to pay for vending purchases touch free.

Their Pay4vend app allows customers to pay for their vending purchases securely via their smart phone, meaning no more handling cash or pushing buttons.

The Airtouch Tech distance selection system detects a customer’s finger from a safe, hygienic distance of 2cm away, meaning that they can make their selection and pay for their purchase without ever coming into contact with the vending machine.

John Broderick, MD of Broderick’s, said: “We don’t just want to keep the vending industry alive during this crisis, we want it to thrive. We are aware that with the majority of food and drink services unable to stay open, our machines are sometimes the only options for frontline workers. We work tirelessly to ensure that we are always providing the best service possible for our customers, and being ‘Covid-secure’ has been our number one priority since lockdown began.”
