Italian espresso machine manufacturer La Cimbali’s Magnum On Demand grinder has helped to break the world record set at the 2011 London Coffee Festival for ‘the number of espressos made in an hour’, grinding coffee used to make 1,500 espressos on the La Cimbali stand.
The show, held in London on 8-10th of April, hosted the world record attempt in which representatives from many of the leading coffee companies in the UK attempted to create the drinks. The team of registered baristas produced a total of 12,005 espressos at a rate of 3,33 espresso shots per second.
La Cimbali used its On Demand grinder to create 1,500 (includes someone who borrowed a grinder for another stand) espressos in the hour, which for the first time demonstrated how effective the unit is at delivering ground coffee during high-volume service times.
