Specialist supplier of liquid dispense parts and components Abbeychart has announced the acquisition of Deutsche Wurlitzer’s vending spare parts business.
Wurlitzer went into liquidation in February 2016 and sold the rights to its vending spare parts supply business to Abbeychart on 20 June 2016.
There are believed to be more than 15,000 Wurlitzer vending machines in the market requiring spare parts – typically located in public areas such as train stations, airports and the like. Each machine has a life expectancy of greater than 10 years.
Mark Taylor, managing director at Abbeychart, commented: “Abbeychart is delighted to acquire the rights to Wurlitzer’s spare parts business. We are constantly looking for ways to enhance our offer as one of the leading suppliers of component and spare parts in the vending industry both in home and export markets. Wurlitzer machines have an iconic history and a reputation for high quality and reliability. We are happy to be in a position to ensure these vending machines realize their useful life potential through the ongoing supply of replacement parts.”
Wurlitzer, the world famous German jukebox manufacturer, has been manufacturing products since as early 1853. Since then, Wurlitzer has returned to Germany, with recent owners of the business including Gibson, the well-known guitar manufacturer.
